My Build Thread - Axial Scorpion RTR

Takes me 3 months to work on my Axial Scorpion RTR. As im new to RC Sports and no knowledge of it and non of my friends really interested in this hobby, the only way to learn is thru reading forums to find the best and cheapest way to mod my Scorpion . The fact that im still new, ways of me doing it might be wrong and i really appreciate u guy's opinions.

1st thing i did after buying is to change the steering servo & all aluminium links.




Used the battery tray for electronics. Changed connectors to Deans, Installed a Castle BEC and bought a 3 Channel TX/RX for future dig setup. Also changed the Drag Brake settings to 90% using Castle usb kit. Good thing for the AE-2 ESC.




Add weights to the front wheels and changed to saddle pack batteries for more weights.


Ordered a new baja body, waiting to add a dig unit, new wheels & new tires and other mods if necessary. If the things im doing are wrong pls enlighten me guys.

Wah bro.. Ur bodyshell look big ah?? Such nice paintjob, u sure u want to run it on the rocks?? It's gonna get scratched and bruised.. Go BK and get the J concept truck body for AX10. Its the right size and look killer as well, for rock bashing.. last I went saw got two left.. Ard $40..
As for tyres, those proline hammers u have on works great on the rocks, proven.. If u die die have to change them, due to the buy, buy, buy syndrome, u may want to try taller ones like HB rovers/sedonas.. To get that extra ground clearance..

main thing is to get that rig on the rocks, start crawling and have fun bro..

Bodyshell havnt trim yet, will cut soon, i bought it off ebay custom painted but not perfected airbrushed. This seller (dsloomer) selling 2 baja body for SGD49.00 so i just bid and grab it. The other Baja body is grey color, anybody want i can sell cheap cheap lol? You all can check out the seller he sometimes sells cheap if he makes painting mistakes, his other works are superb but expensive.

I will stick to the stock tires, if always buy buy buy can also die die die. I got 2 rigs to work with so it will keep me busy for a while.

A short update on my AX10 for all the noobs like me. Having a really busy working month , well just manage to find a bit of time.

STRC 4 link plate front & rear from ebay:RCBoyz. They are fast & reliable.



Cheap Dig from 3Racing version II, won ebay bid from HK, dig is not popular, i tested it & it works.


20KG XQPower Servo, bought this with Slowlee few days back for my Wraith. Decided to put it on the AX10.

Wheel weights on all four wheels. AX10 getting really heavy.

Thats all for a comp ready rig. Finding a free & fine day to test it on the rocks.

Next construction on the way will be on my Wraith. Ordered lower aluminium scale links, steel drive shafts & "suicide switch" steering upgrade, all from CKRC. Hopefully it will arrive by end of the month. Till then have a great trailing/rocking month guys.
