As u can see from pic, directly abv the servo horn is the batt tray mount bar. So the servo horn will hit this bar, esp when suspension pressed down. This is becos servo is a bit too tall, servo horn also a bit too thick. Anybody knw how to get arnd this? tks

Thanks for the photo, so it is the height between the mounting and the servo horn that causes the issue.

You should have a bunch of plastic parts with your Honcho. Amongst others there should different servo mount pieces (sprue AX80028 part 6). Maybe it fits the taller servo.
I have a Dingo which has a shorter wheelbase so the servo sits further back automatically. Hopefully a Honcho owner can chime in and clear the situation.

BTW: the SCX10 (kit) also comes with different splined servo horns, including a 24 spline for Hitec. Found out by pulling out the manual.

tks laneboysrc for the info, will check the 'goodies bag' when I get home. Hopefully can find a way to mount it right. it's a good servo-- paid 50 bucks afterall, lol.

If nothing works, then will get the bluebird one from HK, that one has practically same dimensions as the stock AS-3 and is only US$13. Smile

Checked the spare parts bag. There's a 24 and 23 spline servo horn, but the 24 spline servo horn won't fit the Hitec 646WP well, even though the Hitec is 24 spline--it's a lose fit so there's significant free play. The 23 won't fit at all, of cse.

so i guess i'll go with the Hobby King BMS-620MG as the Hitec 646WP just isn't a drop-in fit on my stock Honcho unless I can find some way to push it back.
