Boolean21's Axial Wraith build - Updates: New Paint scheme - Captain America's Axial Wraith

Post by boolean21 on Sun 9 Oct 2011 - 23:29

Ok.... this is Day 1 of the build.... finished building the shocks, axles, links, shocks and put them together....

some grumbling....
having recently built ~2 venom creeper kits... i think axial should improve man.....

the parts for each main part are scattered around... have to search around different packs to get the miscellaneous parts together... very time consuming...

screws and bolts are mixed together in a pack, unlabelled, unlike venom creeper's kit, all the screws, bolts, nuts, parts, etc, are packed separately, properly labelled, there's little chance that you will use the wrong bolts/ nuts for the venom...

some of the part numbers on the axial wraith kit's instructions are wrong... you have to guess to see which one is the right part from the picture..... but not a big issue though...

venom creeper has much more metal parts than the wraith kit... even the shocks for the creeper are metal... unlike the wraith kit.... axial should improve their stuffs right.... being a better brand than the venom and higher priced... give us more value man... Smile

grumbles aside, i still love axial.... especially my honcho! Very Happy and my AX10.... i'm sure i will grow to love the wraith too...  Very Happy

here's a picture of the current status....

Some more progress today...
Done up the light buckets, front bumper, portion of the tube body, transmission...

now the most difficult part (for me).... cutting and painting the body panels and the consoles.....

Boo, please cover up that hole indicated with the yellow arrow. Otherwise mud will get inside and damage the transmission.

Thanks bro.... Didn't notice the hole there... Razz
You "screwed" the hole or siliconed it? Or is there a cap in the parts pack?

Nar, my wraith is for trailing only, not rock crawling. In fact , with my lipo behind , my wraith still feel heavy up front. For rock crawling, i will be using my miniQlo.
