Wow, nice things for the Honcho.

The fishing net looks awesome, therefore it needs a separate post with build instructions and detailed photos Twisted Evil. Please!

My Axial SCX10 Honcho & Scale Accessories (Pix intensive!) Empty 1:10 Scale DIY Fishing Net For Your Truck/Crawler

Tks man, but no need for sep thread lah--2 pixs with some explanation are enough:

My Axial SCX10 Honcho & Scale Accessories (Pix intensive!) Photo10

1. I used the netting (bigger holes) from a cheap mothball product from the NTUC supermarket. You can get the net (smaller holes) from a bunch of onions from the grocery store too as they are sometimes sold in nets (see white net). I chose the former since it was already glued together at one end. I dyed the mothball white net green by simply using acrylic tube paint and then blow-dried it.

2. Then just use 1mm metal wire to form the frame, triangle or circle, up to you. Be sure to thread the net through the frame first before you twist it close. To thread the net, you need to cut the net down vertically first (and sew back later) so that it's easier to thread (like threading a curtain through a pole). You can then sew around the frame for effect.

3. Use a 3-4mm diameter, 9cm alu tube for the handle. I wrapped a thinner wire around the top end just for effect.

4. Then I just shrink tube-wrapped the twisted part of the triangle frame so that it can fit snugly into the alu tubing.

5. Then just cap the end with a black screw shrink tube-wrapped to fit in snugly too, and voila! you have your fishing net:

As you can see, very simple, anyone can do it! Very Happy

My Axial SCX10 Honcho & Scale Accessories (Pix intensive!) Empty Question on front headlight setup

Post by matthew.j.forget Sun 10 Aug 2014 - 14:38

Did you use the Axial kit AXIAX30709 for your front headlights? Did you cut out the lights from the overhead light bar then mount them on the brackets the kit comes with?

Hi Matthew, I used the spare headlight buckets that were in my Honcho spares bag I think, I didn't cut them out of the lightbar. But yes, I used the 2 u brackets from the AXIAX30709 kit to mount the light buckets. One of a kind!
