Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
thanks guys..
was thinking of using Tamiya's plastic beams... 3mm square to make the roof rack, but i think it's too fragile - maybe 5mm would be a better options.. unless i get alum square hollow bars.. and construct

Make it light. Defender is top heavy.

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
Some experiments...
Using a fat drinking straw for the snorkel and a lexan sheet for the metal support tracks?
I can punch holes easily with a hole puncher lol!
Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
Thanks!
Just completed the rack with latches and board....
And brackets for the lights and camel panel!

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
Some place for hiding light controllers and receiver under the seats...
Net looks like a prison ... Need to make thinner and wider ones...
Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
stole some lego pieces from my son's toy box lol.
did a 180 degrees steering mod... not sure if the driver's hands and arms can articulate 360 lol...
easy mod... lego and some gears and shaft from mini-4wd
Steering mod expose lol! Simple design with 2 gears and a shaft for 180degrees, you can do 360 degrees or more by using another shaft and gears..

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
Just fitted the steering mod on the defender's dash....
Use a brass tube to run the shaft then mount the servo behind it..

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy

think the gearing too tight, will loosen it up..

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
On with the rear door....
Got some hardware from rotor hobby shop..
These plastic hinges are nice, will wait for the brass ones to compare the size..
Also got a door latch....too

Re: Pininy Defender 110 camel trophy
thanks!
just got the steering finally done. due to the size of the current servo... need to replace it with a small one, so got the corona's CS238MG.. they are pretty strong and tiny!
only one problem but can be fix, need to reverse the polarity on the servo manually. to sync up with the steering servo.
here's a test.. all in sync.
