First thing I look at is

Boolean21, you have to wait a long time.... cos need heavy Mod to get the D110 wheel base correct and I'm new to this kind of RC. I measure the chassis... its a tight fit. Any suggestion? Looks like either I drill new holes or DIY a chassis as what you did for your D90. I ored plan to lenghten the link but was taken back with the chassis lenght.

Shown in the pic is the wheelbase requirement 334mm. How to stretch?

I need to get the chassis right first. Anyone got suggestion?

You might want to consider diy the chassis rails for your d110....

Keep this rails for your next build. Smile

OK. DIY than. Where did you get the material for your D90 Chassis? It need not be in C or L shape right? Was thinking of a flat aluminium piece maybe 2mm or 2.5mm?

Heres a real D110 Chassis looks like

I got them from Teck Leong Metals... They have a branch at Kelantan lane.
You can get the bolts and nuts and threaded rods for the links at Poey Huat Hardware... Also at kelantan lane...

After building the chassis to figure out how to get the D110 wheel base requirement of 334mm, I have decided to stay with the chassis and extend the chassis rail by 3mm. Will be going down to Kelantan Lane.

Any suggestion on how to extend the drive shaft? Requires additional 6mm lenght from the motor to the axle.

Here's some update of the cut out..

Might not be very accurate but I try my best. I'll wait for the D90 to arrive before doing a final measurement and cut out the template.

Some update. Manage to stretch to the required wheelbase for the build.

Need to lenghten the links. First up will be this.

you can get the 3mm threaded rod from Poey Huat if you wanna use back the rod ends...

then go teck leong metals to get some hollow aluminium tubes to sleeve the threaded rod and you will have some nice aluminium longer links. Smile

Boolena21, thanks for the tip! The other things that need to lengthen is the Y tree joint to the centre of the axel... how to go about that? Or just get a longer M3 screw?

does the kit come with the 4 link truss mount?
can convert the rear to 4 links and extend the links the same way..

if doesn't come with the 4 link mount...
else, measure and get longer screen and spacer to extend the y-link... Smile

Just to understand.. when you say sleeve means the whole threaded rod will go thru the aluminium tubes and out the other end right?

Yeah man...

If you want, can also buy a hollow aluminium tube and thread it for 3mm... But more work... Then no need the threaded rod... Sleeving is easier.... any hollow tube that can fit the threaded rod through can liao...

Just bring along the threaded rod or a m3 bolt to test fit....

The D90 body has arrived

The mud plugger fitted just nice within the body.

rover - BabyBoy's Land Rover D110 on Axial SCX10 P1050913

Some QC that need to be rectified. The other one is OK. I will use this to Mod to the D110. Hope that some heat will correct the flaw.

nice to see another landy in the making!! Very Happy

now i've got mixed feelings... on one hand, excited to see the landy being cut up and built into a D110... on the other hand, painful to see the landy being cut up... Very Happy

but i guess the pain is temporary! Very Happy
looking forward! Smile

Some slow update... I should kick myself... for being over confidence. It's a really stupid mistake...

Was happy that I found out how to cut up the D90 easily... that I happy happy cut.. now got extra one piece... arrgh!

After doing measurement on the D90 body and scale it to the actual 1:1, the wheelbase is actually shorter that what RC4WD had on its D110. So I will use the shorter wheel base lah. I'll see if can get 2mm styrene by this week... and I need to work on the chassis with the new wheelbase. cheers
