Hi bro, according to all the "old bird" crawlers here, I believed that Axial SCX10 Dingo or Honcho will be the one worth consider. What say the rest? Very Happy

Welcome! I am also a newbie, so here is my newbie perspective.

Axial SCX10 is indeed a fantastic choice. Dingo Kit, or Honcho ready-to-run (just need battery and charger, rest is in the box). We bought one after we first got a tiny Thunder Tiger "Tiger Crawler" and let me tell you, the SCX10 is just brilliant in any way. Very robust, excellent driving performance, easy to maintain. Worth every cent!
Axial Wraith is another popular choice.
Axial stuff is sometimes in stock at S'wan Model & Trading (#02-40, 150 Orchard Plaza)

During our trail the HPI Crawler King is also doing very well. Tamiya CR-01 seem to drive well too. Tamiya CC01 is a bit smaller and struggles often where SCX10s don't even lift a wheel.

Apparently the outing next Sunday will take place in Woodgrove. Watch the board for details. This would be a good place to go and watch different vehicles, and talk to people. This will give you vital information in making the right choice.

For 2nd hand you can check out -- beside this site -- the Singapore section at rctech.net. But SCX10 or such do not seem to appear often as people rarely let go and rather convert them to something else.

Budget is just an excuse to console/control ourselves..... once you are into it.... you will forget about "budget"..... I'm a good example! Nevertheless, have to spend it wisely with the advices from those "old birds" here... these guys ROCK!!

Im abit shy hehehe. Maybe just tell you all abit of myself. Im still 15 right now (sec3) call me Sal, and i have been playing with cars since I was p1. I remember my first rc when I was p3, it was a subaru impreza not sure bout the brand tho... When i was younger, i'll always quickly rush home to play with my maisto cars hahaha oh well i miss primary school days!
Bout my budget? Hmmm not sure yet but i kinda like the Crawler king more but the SCX10 look very realistic to me. Im not buying the RTR one cuz I alr have Tx/Rx my friend gave me. Really wanna know how much a kit cost... I have like 170 with me now. Still saving tho Very Happy

You still need the esc, servo, motor, etc...

The thing is if I go for crawling, it will be tougher for me cuz there is no trailing/rock crawling place near my house. But for bashing, the vid there is very near my house just have to cycle there hehehe. So, I'll go for bashing I guess? silent
And i play this so that I can stop my addiction to blackshot! pale

I know that feeling very well. I didn't even have $170 when I was in secondary 3 $100 is like a a few k in today's world, daily pocket money to me was $2.50. just enough for a drink and a meal, well that was almost a decade ago. Fast forward today, money to me still doesn't come easy, have to work part time to get some pocket money, but life is much better now. My advice is to work part time to get some extra cash in order to buy your dream rig buying pre-owned rigs can save some money, or DIY!!! or do well in your studies and get your parents to buy you a rig. Nowadays kids rather spend money on iphones, clothes and girlfriend and whats not...few or maybe none would want to spend money on RC car. You will eventually get your dream rig and probably grew out of it as you step out to the real world. Whatever it is work hard and live your dream. Very Happy
