Re: What "GOODIES" arrived today?
Got a small box today as well -- one of three currently in shipment. From Hong Kong, AsiaTees
On the right side:
- Steering repair kit for our battered CC01 Unimog. Will be back trailing soon!
- Aluminum motor mount for the TA01/02 M1025 Hummer
On the left side are TopCad Piggyback shocks for our Dingo. Unfortunately they are 110mm, as opposed to the 95mm the standard SCX10 comes with. I guess they would work well with 2.2" tires, but for us they will just look ridicolous. I wrote them back straight away, lets see what they say. Unfortunately neither their website nor the TopCad site mentions the length of the shock, so I assumed they are the right length as they are labeled for SCX10 specifically.
The build quality seems to be ok. The piggyback is real, meaning there is a hole from the shock into the piggyback reservoir where oil can travel. Most of the parts are aluminum, only the lower shock cap is plastic. USD 27 for 2pcs would have been a good price, especially as it did not increase shipping cost for this order.
happy RC-ing, Werner
PS: first day of holiday today; went an hour Buggy driving in the morning and 1.5 hours Drifting in the afternoon. Soooo addictive!

Re: What "GOODIES" arrived today?
Ok, AsiaTees already replied regarding the shock issue: they want me to send me a photo, then will investigate, then possibly ask me to return the items for exchange. Lets see.
Just in case anyone is interested in those shocks, here is a photo:
About half an hour ago I had a phone call from Vellrip, asking whether he can drop by for delivery
Here is what he delivered; it is most certainly the most expensive piece of unfinished plastic I ever bought in my entire life:
Tamiya Rally Cockpit from 1992.
Ok, I need to make a confession.. Last Wednesday during lunchtime I made the mistake to go to Stargek. Just regular RC-pilgrimage. Unfortunately as you all know the sale is on. And they had this very strong magnetic kit on the shelf that immediately stuck to me:
There is a bit of a personal story behind Lancia and me. When I was still in Austria I was member of an Lancia oldtimer club. Had a couple of not-so-old Lancia Beta Coupe myself and used to do lots of stuff for the club. As "reward" for my work I got several times fixed up with a proper car for a weekend (usually a car that the local distributor used for PR purpose). On three occasions I got an Delta Integrale to drive on a long weekend. Fun days...
The DF03RA will get the 10.5T brushless that is currently in our Buggy -- purchasing this rig gave me the excuse to upgrade the Buggy
While I was in the Tamiya-Temple I also got a shell for our Unimog, "slightly used" but only SGD20. It has the black side plates that were missing on ours, so I hope that I can make a decent one out of the two banged up shells.
Speaking about Unimog: while purchasing Christmas toys I stumbled about this:
I think Bro Boolean had one of those earlier this year. It was only SGD20 (presumably because of the broken back axle) and is very detailed. Nice 1/10 scale size. Not sure what I will do with it, possible use as second body for our SCX10.
