Babyboy's MBT ZTZ99
This is the Chinese modern MBT ZTZ99 tank. The box is big. Had a hard time coaxing the tank out from the box. It would not budge until a surgical cut to the box.

" />
Nice long barrel
" />
Item that comes with it
" />
Bags of accessories
" />
" />
" />
Rear lights install after casting done
" />
" />
" />
Front lights
" />
Some left over hot glue
" />
Fine detailing. Very nice!
" />
" />
" />
BB ball arming switch
" />
Simple 3 page instructions for accessories
" />
" />
" />
8 screws under the chassis holds down the top
" />
Turret
" />
Here's the problem that I had when rotating the turret. Cables caught within the gears area
" />
Second area cable caught in the gears
" />
Loose wire around turret gear that need fixing too
" />
Removing 5 screws the turret pop out from the top chassis
" />
Area to modify for barrel recoil. Lightly grease under the turret
" />
Barrel elevation unit
" />
" />
Need to operate this later for barrel recoil
" />
Marine grease before closing it back
" />
Overall the Heng Long ZTZ99 is very nice. Next work will be the modification part. That's all for now. Thanks for watching.

Very big space inside the hull for more option parts.
The rear LED have to solder yourself?

Nice tank indeed!
Bro you better zip tie all the cables in one loom, instead of the way HL hot glued them in place. Funny the leopard isnt done this way...looks scarey!

No need tidying up as I think you will definitely mod the internals.

No. Come preassemble. Just need to plug the rear lights in the socket provided.RTECH wrote:Very big space inside the hull for more option parts.

Re: Babyboy's MBT ZTZ99
Started to airbrush my ZTZ99... this is the furthers that I manage to go before the pump gave up on me... The pump stop after it got warm and slowed down and died after 10mins or so. Waited for it to cool down and try again. You can hear the electrical sound going thru the motor but its not turning at all.... I got hook on airbrushing so will continue with other cheaper alternative. Went stargek to get some air pressure can... Dun think a big can will last me for the entire project.

Those cheap compressors can only be used for a short time, they are rated for "1/3 duty cycle", i.e. 10 minutes running, 20 minutes cooling.

Yeah. Now wonder if I need to get one with the airtank attach. Lesson learn.laneboysrc wrote:Oh no...babyboy wrote:Started to airbrush my ZTZ99... this is the furthers that I manage to go before the pump gave up on me... First trial with air can. Very hard to control the pressure but am happy I got this far. Very hard work to prepare the stencil. My first so call Digital Camo. Need more improvement.

Re: Babyboy's MBT ZTZ99
Got some time yesterday... dismantle and cut out the airsoft unit as I will not be using it. Opening just nice for my gun barrel led flash to go thru. Will mod a servo elevation later on.
" />
" />
Need space so remove the FRS 7 speaker from the box and got a very tight fit. Why 2 speaker??? Cos the TK22 will take care of the machine gun, main gun, turret rotation and elevation while the TBS mini will handle the engine roaring sound. The TBS mini do have machine gun and main gun firing but have not explore there yet. Looks quite complex so I leave it first.
" />
Next up will be video with full motion (minus the paint job... ). As the saying goes... till the next post. Thanks for watching.
