Buying Axial Honcho RTR--Advice Needed - DWJL511's SCX10 Honcho
Hi guys, am really thinking of buying the Axial SCX10 Honcho RTR soon from TowerHobbies (new stock just arrived). Have already gotten their email that gives me US$75 off the total. So is there anything else I should be aware of before I order? I also have some noob questions:
1. Can the stock ESC take lipos or shld I order the recommended NiCd batt? Which is better lipo or NiCd?
2. If I wanted this thing to go on water, what would I need to waterproof? Shld I not worry about this first and just enjoy it on dry land?
3. Read somewhere that brushed motors are waterproof but not brushless motors. That true?
Have played with an SCT but totally clueless abt running these things in mud and water! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tks guys and happy crawling

Hi, my answers from my limited experience.
1. The stock esc can take 2s lipo but if you want to submerge the vehicle, it is best to go with NIMH (it can take more abuse without getting bloated).
2. You should waterproof the esc, receiver, servo and probably the battery (the gaps and wires connecting to the battery)
3. Yes the brushed motor works fine in water. Just remember to lubricate with WD40 before storage (correct the rest??)
Hope you order and join us soon.

congrats on your purchase.
another scx10 in the group.
the wrestling figures fits nicely for 1:10 trucks.
you can try far east square, not sure whether they still sells them cheaper there...
post photos when the rig is here!

China square central got figurines and other scale accessories. If not eBay is a good place to shop. Just like treasure hunt.

Re: Buying Axial Honcho RTR--Advice Needed - DWJL511's SCX10 Honcho
The Rock one was $15 and John Cena $10 (clothes $2.50 each). I saw $5 ones too but their expressions too fierce for me or they have long blonde hair. Want more 'Asian' (blacker hair) looking ones coz me Chinese with black hair lah.
The Rock one has greater range of motion. Torso and hip area (just below trunks) can be bent/moved, which is better for seating position in truck. The John Cena one cannot, but I like the fact that he came with pants on.
Go on Sun when flea mart is on.
ps: if I'm not wrong, Toys 'R' Us sell these for like $35+!

Just curious, how do you guys fit a figurine into the Honcho when there's no scale interior? Is there a good kit u guys use? Also, those figurines that I see in the vids, are the bodies like chopped at the torso? tks

Hi bros out there, I'm new to RC and decided to go into crawlers. Was thinking of ordering a SCX10 Honcho too, and happen to see the bro posting the $75 off the total. Is that a discount coupon? where can I get that discount? Many thanks to bros here in advance if you guys can guide me.
