In comparison, our tyres don't look too oversized...
this photo resembles sally's style!

Re: Boolean21's Land Rover Defender D90 Build....
Whole afternoon working on the Defender!
Shortened the R2 transmission shaft, rear 4 link, front 3 link, hinge up body mount like my 6x6...
Cut a piece of aluminium to support the front bumper, so that it can take serious impact!
Now just left with doing up a front "clip" down to hold the body in position....
and the side steps...
Some photos below
Shortened the R2 shaft... too long makes the drive angle very "steep"...
i might need to shorten a bit more to make it even smoother... see how...
Bracket for front bumper...
Front bumper mounted
Hinge for battery changing!
can see the red lower links... lower links from the left overs of the venom creeper used for the 6x6 build... length just nice... for this chassis, i've only made 2 rear upper links to shorten the wheel base...
Side view...
and lastly.... a DOG PEE stance!!

Boo...the shell color tone much lighter than light sand color. you might consider light khaiki color with black fenders too...
talking about batam, today i went there for work. You want open and big total flat ground for bashing or muddy muddy terrain for trails just name it!

Is that the lowest height of your shell can go? If lowered more that will be spot on with topcad tyres.
Now i know why although i find your tyres are larger in previous pics coz its protruding outside the fenders, and pics taken at a perspective view thus looks larger although its same....

i actually did an additional 3-inch body lift (scale ~7.5mm) for the defender... wanna make it more crawlable leh... with the body lift, already will rub the fenders with the 40inch (scale 4inch) tyres....Marpek wrote:Is that the lowest height of your shell can go? oh ya... i still need to file off the fenders like what bro Slow did... so that it has more clearance...
see how... maybe will lower it back if the clearance is ok after the fenders are filed...
Re: Boolean21's Land Rover Defender D90 Build....
Fixed up a silver can to the r2 transmission (thanks to salpek!) With tamiya 104bk esc and test drove the landy liao.. Speed still a little slow.... but lots of torque!...
Going to silicone the tamiya esc....
some photos...
sprayed the bumper aluminium to black and added a layer of gloss...hope it holds well after scratches....

gloss aluminium... wah... difficult to spray or not... difficult to maintain paint work...slow wrote:How about Silver, Gloss Aluminum.. ..or Racing Green
hmm... dunno leh... too bad the windscreen edges are not same color as the body... else i just spray the fenders and keep the original body color... cream cream is nice too...
the racing green is nice too... but my honcho already green and my betty shell is silver... thinking maybe get a different color....
pink is another nice color man....slow wrote:
