spent some time with my honcho today... tore up the transmission, cleaned and marine greased everything before assembling.... fitted up the spur gear cover as well...

also spent some time to fabricate the servo mount for the axial transmission... previously, when I installed the dig, I just clamped the servo on one of the spacer position...

finally the servo has a proper place to sit... Smile

ya... last time my honcho is driven by my chuck norris... worried that his leg get amputated by the spur gear, so ordered the spur gear cover set... Smile

previously didn't install the back cover, only installed the front and zip tied... cos the servo using one of the spacer position, so can't install the rear cover...

now can cover fully liao. Smile

Nice idea. Your servo plate got how many support point? Looks like it's only supported by the spacer plate. How many screws?

reused the 2 (out of 3) bolts that holds the spacers so that the angle bracket is firm and won't move, the servo plate is also mounted on to the angle plate using 2 bolts... so that the servo itself won't move and the dig is triggered... Smile

for your ax10, can just mount on the battery plate supplied with the hot racing dig... that's what i do for mine... everything fits nicely, don't need to think of where to mount the servo.. Smile

I was thinking of making a servo plate to place the servo in line, or close to, with the dig, to reduce the cg but couldnt think of anywhere to place. Have you thought of using micro servo instead? I didnt use the green tubes as I didnt know what these are for - i just stick the stoppers right up the pivot.

I see that you have raised the servo to clear the dig casing plate?

Yeah, it's better to put in line, wanted to put the dig servo on top of the dig unit, slightly to the rear so that the rod and the dig shaft is in line, but the honcho got no rear bed to hide the stuffs... so have to put the servo on top of the transmission.

you might want to consider using the same 2 bolt positions, and extend the servo plate to roughly above the dig unit.. just like how those DNA and vanquish dig servos are mounted...

initially, i do not know what are the green tubes for... but i figured and guess that it should be functioning like a "servo saver"... to absorb a little pressure while getting the dig unit to lock into position... it does help a little after i used the green tubes...

didnt try using micro servo... only have a few of them that i plan to use for the turning steering wheels... Very Happy don't think these have enough torque for the dig... so didnt wanna try...

i raised the servo a little cos i do not have countersunk screws at the moment and didn't wanna drag further.. Razz

Yeah the tubes act as cushion against hard binding. For my case I am still using the HR battery plate and I can't remove that now till I can safety place my battery in front without having the right tyre rubbing it. My dig servo is already almost touching the dig casing as I've got it lowered by about 4mm using spacer plates between the battery plate and the servo.
