Yeah, got our Sawback today!

Actually there have been quite a few new arrivals in our home in the recent weeks; let me share the joy:



Quick overview from top left to bottom right:
BNIB TA02 Porsche, bought for spares but we are discussing if we are building it up instead. Semi-ancient FF01 Opel Vectra, with new replacement shell. Sawback, no need to mention. Subaru 2008 Ken Block shell that came with the TA02. Barely used TA02 with new Toyota Celica WRC 93 shell. TA03F with Impreza 2007 WRC shell.

For some reason I got a bad flu recently. Symptoms: makes you want those old kits from the 90ies. I think it came with the "free" FF02 Alfa 156. Serious case.  



This TA03F (F = front motor) came from Japan. Used but in very good condition. Only one piece missing. Came with the Subaru Impreza Arai body I sold recently. Originally there was a Subary Impreza WRC 97 body for this chassis, but that one is hard to find so for now I will be using a new Impreza 2007. The shell is almost done, only lights need to be installed. This shell comes with decals for both Solberg and Atkinson, I built the Aussie bloke version as I figured everyone else would be doing the Fin.



This TA02 came from the same seller as the TA03F. It is basically unused and has many hop ups installed including the FRP deck. Due to long idle time the ball diff needed rebuilding, and some of the plastic parts are cracked, but the important rare bits are perfect. I bought an (expensive because hard to find) Toyota Celica Castrol WRC 93 body, which will be getting the rally interior and everything. Looking forward to building and (gently) running this car. Currently the chassis has a period-correct Sanwa BL Fighter electronic speed controller installed. I will certainly have a peek inside this one to see how they did it back then. The motor is a 23T Orion brushed motor.



Finally we have a front wheel drive FF01. A lot of parts on this car are the same as the TA01/TA02. it has a hot Kyosho motor with stand-up exchangeable brushes and adjustable timing. I got the car very cheap, but shipping from Switzerland was expensive. The chassis is dusty but in good nick. The drive train runs very, very nice. The Opel body has cracks but I got a brand new one from Stargek during the sale. I am sure this car will be a blast to drive once it is cleaned up.
