Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
My 2nd Christmas present for myself.....
the 6x6 version of the Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck!
ordered the "kit" version as well... although the box shows "RTR", the seller simply stripped off the electronics from the truck before shipping the item....
here are some photos....
the box...
a pity that the window panels aren't clear....
else it'll look even more realistic....
thinking of cutting out the window panels and replacing them with clear polycarbonate....
comes with manuals, sticker sheet and some miscellaneous parts....
and 3 pinions as well...
a view of the chassis....
the same 2-speed transmission.... which can be controlled by a servo.... the replacement arm for the 2-speed transmission comes in the spare parts bag...
the chassis is the same as the chassis of the 4x4.... just extended for the 3rd axle....
bottom view of the chassis....
cover for the 3rd axle output shaft.... the expansion is limitless!
the fenders for the rear wheels....
the front fenders are the same ones on the AMG 4x4 truck....
comes with the roll cage like the real thing....
flexing the rear axle....
the internal view of the axle....
It'll stay this way till I burn some midnight oil to fix it up and get it ready for trails!
and a photo of the real thing....
thanks for looking!

Re: Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
Burning some night oil to get the 6x6 ready for the next trail.....
stripped off all the fenders and accessories from the body shell....
the naked 6x6....
removing the clear protective film from the shell...
during reassembly, noticed that there are 5 holes on each side of the roof spoiler for 3mm LED lights.... and a 5mm hole catered on the roof of the body shell, under the spoiler for running of the LED light cables...
fitted back all the plastic parts onto the body shell and preparing to apply the stickers...
didn't fit back the spare tyre... and took the chance to see if the rims are really bead lock rims...
and yes... they really are bead lock rims...
done up with the stock stickers.....
and also installed the electronics....
now it's ready for trails!
side by side with the G63 4x4....
thanks for looking!

Re: Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
after washing the 6x6 this afternoon...
decided to add on some lights....
bought this S$2 lights from Daiso last year i think?
open up the light holder
only managed to squeeze in 3 LEDs on each side....
added some ah beng lights on the front top side indicator light buckets...
sad to say that the 6 LEDs out of the 10 LEDs in the S$2 Daiso lights were burnt... i didn't check the check the rating and fed in 3.3V and fried the LEDs...
so... it'll be just ah beng blue lights for now....
thanks for looking!

Re: Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
ordered these 3mm and 5mm LEDs.... pre-soldered with resistors and wire... suitable for 5V usage...
so replaced the "daiso" lights with these new 3mm LEDs...
done!!
did up the AMG G63 4x4 as well after doing up the 6x6...

Re: Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
Very nice! Nothing better than having lights on a vehicle.
Great buy on those LEDs. Pre-soldered with resistors and heat shrink, and for sure cheaper than if you would have bought the parts and soldered them yourself. Amazing what we can get these days...

Re: Boolean21's Mercedes AMG G63 G Wagon 6x6 truck
this post is cross posted on both the Mercedes AMG G63 4x4 thread http://sgcrawlers.co.nr/t2232-boolean21-s-mercedes-amg-g63-4x4-truck and the Mercedes AMG G63 6x6 thread http://sgcrawlers.co.nr/t2235-boolean21-s-mercedes-amg-g63-g-wagon-6x6-truck
like i mentioned in my first post....
i will get some stickers printed for the front grill of this truck...
and here they are...
Some Brabus stickers...
and the front grills....
decided that the 4x4 will have the front grill with the Mercedes emblem....
and the 6x6 to have the front grill with the Brabus logo....
hope the stickers boosted some horse power on these trucks...
thanks for looking!
