Nissan R91CP Lemans
Hi all,
Like to share with all my new Tamiya kit built. Its the old Gr C chassis with Nissan R91CP body. Managed to grab the last piece from Stargek with a little discounts some more!(pls dun ask me how).
As usual, build up the chassis fully stock and no complaints as its simple and straight forward. The good thing of this kit is that you can select the wheelbase for the shell used. There`s 260, 270 and 280mm for you to choose from. :
Front suspension;
Rear gearbox;
rear drive shaft, silvercan, shock and differential install;
Completed chassis, and test fit with my F40 shell;
Bodyshell preparation and painting;
Painting the wheels;
Finishing up;
Add panel line;
Interior cockpit;
Finished!
Some pics of the Tyrrell;
That`s all folks... hope you like it!
And stay tuned for my next build...

Sure do!Marpek wrote:That`s all folks... hope you like it!
Great to see you building again. Thanks for the detailed write-up and great photos.
Nice trick using a cut-off Lexan piece as guide to trace the panel lines.
I wonder how the "professionals" that build the Tamiya show-case kits do that, their panel lines always look absolutely perfect in close-up photos.
Interesting to see that the Nissan came with a standard silver-can. The Honda NSX re-release I bought earlier this year has the black sports-tuned in the box.
Looking forward to your next build thread, Werner
PS: If you ever let go of the F40 body let me know
Re: Nissan R91CP Lemans
Thanks for comments werner!
Fyi, the kit actually came with sports tune, but i replaced it with the silvercan for no good reason which i also dun know myself.
The panel perfect lines you mentioned that Tamiya used probably are those thin vinyl tape which ABC hobbies sells them which KM has showed me.
Nice to hear you also had that NSX Gr C car. Phil also have the same Nissan which he is rebuilding it. Maybe one day we can run together...
As for the F40 shell... i will keep that in mind. In case if you wanted a nib F40 kit with prepainted body, Carousel has one which sells at 250 only...
