Traxxas Summit
Newbie here seeking help for Traxxas Summit. Here are some questions that I need to ask.
1) Any kind ah pek here know how to charge battery for summit truck?
Do I need a charger that can charge 2 battery at the same time, or can I charge them one by one. Cause I am using Tamazho T15 charger.
2) Can summit use lipo battery? And do I need to put the low voltage alarm buzzer on both the lipo battery?
3) If 2 25c 5000 mah lipo is at difference voltage, can I use them? Will it damage the ESC or motor?
4) Will the Esc and motor burn off or spoilt, if I keep on using the low speed gear for crawling. Lets say a Sunday crawling session with u all.
Think thats all for the movement .
Thanks so much.

Re: Traxxas Summit
2) can use lipo. no problem. better use the voltage buzzer in case.
3) so long as the voltage difference is not more than 0.5V, then its no problem using them together.
4) using low speed gear doesn't matter, its the throttle applied that matters. for crawling, u're not on the throttle all the time. unless u're doing top speed runs, otherwise its quite difficult to get the esc hot. as for motor, shouldn't be much of an issue.

Bro, plugs and connectors does not affect the waterproofing... Are the electronics waterproofed?ket2175 wrote:Ok noted , thanks all for the reply. But mine is not waterproof already , as the ex owner change to dean plug.
Summit comes with waterproof electronics la... Unless the owner changed them...

The ESC specs dictates 7.2V to 16.8V...
so from the specs, it supports 6 cell nimh (7.2V) to 4S Lipos (~4.2V per cell fully charged x 4 = 16.8V)
maybe bro harakiri advised you not to use lipos cos lipos are not waterproof?...
unless you DIY waterproof or get the waterproofed lipos...

Easy to test. Just plug lipo into your summit. If you see smoke coming out of the esc. That means the esc cannot tahan lipo.
No smoke means OK. Easy rite?

Re: Traxxas Summit
Here are some things abt Summit I notice today.
1. The battery on the BEC side get much much hotter than the non BEC side, and the voltage current draw is bigger also. Just now bash my Summit at downstair void deck, untill the truck totally cant move at all . And I use a multi meter to measure it, the reading on the BEC side is 8.1V and the other side is 8.6V.
2. When not playing the truck after some time , is good that you engage the gear back to the high speed setting. Cause after last week crawling session, my gear is on the low speed setting for almost a week. And I notice that the high speed gear lever on the gearbox is abit jam. So I have to shift the gear to low then high afew times in order to get the thing back to normal. So all SUMMIT owner pls take note.
Hope all this help.
