hey there all,,,
well I decided to buy my son a radio controlled car for Christmas, and I've got the bug back myself.
years ago I had the "Big Bear" hornet, wildcat, even a fast attack vehicle,,, several others over the years both gas and electric, and then work, family, life happened and to be honest, I have no idea what ever happened to my collection of RC's
Anyway, I've got the bug back, and after buying my son the Axial SX10 Honcho, I had a play and couldn't wait to get my own again, so the next day I waltzed on into the hobby shop and handed over more cash for an Axial "Wraith" and I'm in the process of doing some mods already (only took 3 days LOL) I'm building it into a Military Police vehicle
I bought 2 UFC figurines for a massive $4 each, they looked pretty close to scale and have plenty of movement for positioning them just right, and when you flip over, it looks pretty cool when they fly out and have the truck land on them.
Anyway, after a day of thrashing and bashing, I stripped it down, painted the body olive drab, the roof got a shot of flat black and I got some Milliput today and have started customizing the dudes so they'll look like MP's. I'll scratch build a .30cal Browning and mount it above the dash, coz I'm in Australia i've also started a left to Right conversion for the driver, and will also make stowage bins, pioneer tools, got for some working LED Police Lights, and the list goes on,,, been bitten pretty hard LOL.
When I work out how to add pics, I'll put them up for everyone to see,,, it looks pretty cools so far.
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome guys, and yep The Land Down-Under is me
I tried to post pics and they seemed to go ok, but I can't find them anywhere?
I've checked out several LED set-ups, there's some pretty cool stuff out there, getting it in Oz may be a problem though, so I might talk to a freind who's pretty clued on that type of thing.
I did some more on my driver tonight after work, and have re-assembled the beast and did a trial fit, and he's looking pretty good so far. Hopefully it'll be ready for painting by the weekend?
For the co-driver, rather than using milliput, I may go for auto body filler, Bondo, to get the desired shape, coz it cures so much faster and is a lot cheaper. Then use the milliput for the more fiddly stuff

Re: hey there all,,, forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but I'm a noob
Thanks
Left to right conversion will also be a challenge, and the cab will be fitted out with personal weapons, detailed radio rig, and instrumentation, when I get my adaptor for the air brush I'll add a cam paint job, do up some tac signs, unit markings etc, and plan to go pretty wild with stowage bins, equipment in the back, and roof rack, plus more lights on the roof and police flashers, wig wags etc.
After Christmas I'll order the chassis servo mount and alloy upper and lower swing arms for front and rear. I broke the rear lower swing arm and have made a temporary fix replacing rear upper and lowers with 2 pairs of Traxxas #5318X, but the driveshaft fouls on the upper left swing arm,,, can't seem to find anywhere that supplies replacement ones here in Oz, so better take it easy till the new set arrives.
But I'm having fun
