Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
I have bought 2pcs D90. One to be... MOD to D110. But I just started out so dun know will have a D110 or down the bin. Read in RC 4x4 scale that Mod to D110 is possible. So I just want to try out. Was in touch with Liew where to get Styrene. Anyway I must see how to strecth the SCX10 to have a longer wheel base to fit the D110... will wait till I get the KIT and study from there. Hence need lots of help from here.

Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
defender 90 wheelbase around 280mm
defender 110 wheelbase around 334mm
honcho wheelbase around 313mm
dingo wheelbase around 290mm
extending the wheelbase shouldn't be very difficult...
more work is required for the body...
must take more photos and post build thread!!
always shiok to see build threads.

Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
Peter hasnt reply...
only d90 are available...
From what I know, the d110 bodies are all custom made from 2x d90 bodies... Even those from rc4wd... Can read their remarks on the d110...

Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
Yeah I read about it but the price they are selling it.... is about the same as a new Dingo Kit! No wonder there are so many Mod in RC 4x4 scale.

Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
Yeah. My intention is to use one D90 for the Mod. RC 4x4 scale has a lot of sucessful MOD. I'm now trying to get the D110 Side view drawing to see how to build it to scale or semi scale. Mine should be the semi scale... If all goes well the extra D90 might end up in the for sale section.

Actual D110 wheelbase is 2xxxx something so if 1:10 is 2xx mm. Think have to wait for the D90 body to arrive before I start my drawing and printing of the D110. As the scale size might not be acurate if I start my side view drawing... Cant wait for the D90 to arrive.

you are right for the 1:1 defenders...
actually the 90 and the 110 refers to the wheelbase in inches...
90 inches = 228.6cm
110 inches = 279.4cm
the scale defender 90 body's wheelbase is around 280mm... so strictly speaking, it's bigger than 1:10...
the scale wheelbase numbers is based on the one rc4wd custom made using the d90 body...
so D110 around 13.14inches = 333.756mm
wait for your d90 to arrive then start... can measure on the actual body...
can refer to the below article...
http://www.rccrawler.com/news/rc4wds-defender-110/
RC4WD released the 10th scale Land Rover Defender 90 a little while ago, they are great looking trucks, but left crawlers wanting more. While they are great looking trucks, there was no four door option, with the only viable solution to cut apart two D90’s.
The short wheelbase left something to be desired in those steep climbs that crawlers often see. Well, RC4WD looked again to Land Rover this time with the Defender 110, the D110 is almost identical to the Defender 90, but the 110 offers a longer body and a longer wheelbase to go with it. The wheelbase from the D90 to D110 stretches from 11.10” to 13.14.” While just having this body is great RC4WD does one better, The Land Rover Defender 110 is now available as a ready to run crawler.
for your build... can refer to this thread...
there's a link to the build thread and photos...
show's almost exactly where you need to cut...
especially when the builder used a body with existing paint, easy to see where to cut..

no worries.. Peter's email is laihonwai@netvigator.com
order the wheels together with the bodies mass order... can save on the shipping cost...
i think the shipping for 10bodies is usd59 or so, based on the last batch... cos he packs 10 bodies in a box... the wheels and tires can squeeze in too...
Re: Defender D110. Anyone has it?
