Bro, i think the one from RC4WD is not the same as Bro Coldman28's..?
Bro Coldman28's rack covers the side window as well while the one from RC4WD does not... ? Shocked

By the way, how do you buy stuff from RC4WD, they reject my paypal payment and email me
that they do not ship to Singapore for customer whom pay thru Credit Card / Paypal... Crying or Very sad

Land Rover Defender 90 Discussion Empty how is it possible ?

Post by akwaba Mon 25 Jun 2012 - 3:27

Hi,
really newbie on this forum and in crawler/scaler too : https://sgcrawlers.forumotion.com/t763-re-discovering-rc-since-1995
I see many and many video on youtube past 2 weeks, wraith, honcho, defender... But among all theses nices RC , i'll find one EXTREMELLY STRANGE for the newbie that i am : this one above (i've made a certain time to find it here ^^)

Land Rover Defender 90 Discussion 28244811

So, what is strange for me on this defender over all the other ? it is really simple, on ALL the video where i can see the coldman d90, it is the only one who looks so much "real". I'm not speaking about the design or "scaler" details who's great too, but other's d90 look's great too... i speak about the body moves, the body reactions...lurch, pitch, roll, i don't know the exact terms in english. But, for sure, for me, it's uncomprehensive why the coldman's d90 react so real instead of the other d90 on the same difficulties ??? My newbie question : is it more heavy ?, different technical part (axles, chassis) ? plastic body ? special tires ? motor (seems more "progressive" than other). It's really mysterious for me...

I was really happy to know the reason why ... i only know it's a dingo chassis...
sorry if i haven't post at right place...

Post by coldman28 Mon 25 Jun 2012 - 21:28

hi bro Akwaba, thank for the compliment regarding my humble D90. let me answer your question as best to my knowledge.
Yes the whole vehicle is quite heavy compare to the rest of other set up as the roof rack and black box on roof which contain battery for my light bar.
the whole chassis and parts are stock from Axial SCX10 dingo.
I modified my steering servo to mount at chassis.
i shorten the front link.
I replace the original on the shock to a stiffer spring on the upper spring from TT01 shock as the lower spring still used the original axial spring.

Thank's for this answer from the direct creator !!! compliment again !
As i'm really newbie, il will analyse point by point the details you deliver about your d90 Wink (it need time for me to traduct english + technical Embarassed )
But globally, we can say that the most important factor for real body moves in your case seems to be the "heavy" oy your d90 ! and more the position of light battery (on top) make this slow "tangle" movment. We never see your d90 fall down on the video, but do you think it's higher gravity center make it more sensible to falling ?

Hi,

I am new here, want to ask a simple question on the D90 Defender body shell.

Which of the chassis - would be more suitable to fit this chassis? I have seen CC01 and Gelande but not many Axial? But not very sure which to get for this great body.

thanks in advance!

Hi pininy First of all welcome to sg Crawler bro. Axial Scx 10 Dinggo chassic n link would be the best fit for a landy body.

Thanks :-)

So do i need to get additional links to fit the D90 Body? or it's a direct fit?

Many thanks!

you would need to shorten the links for both dingo and honcho chassis.
check out the few scx10 defender build threads for more details.
