Sources of "grill" material Empty Sources of "grill" material

Hi everybody,

Triggered by bro Boo picking up a pencil case from the $-shop as truck grill after I posted about it, I'd like to share other sources I investigated.
Sources of "grill" material P1220110

The black pencil case is the one I used for our Dingo. Available at Valu$ for SGD 1. They also have a round version that bro Boo used, providing him with more mesh material.

On the right bottom is a metal sink drain. When you cut it out it is possible to flatten it. It is difficult though to get straight and the edges need to be secured as otherwise individual wires come out. Not the best option I think.

The orange sieve on the left top is from a Pasar Malam. The mesh is plastic and very soft. But it is also a bit irregular. I am not sure if the material is good for painting, haven't tried yet. But it is certainly a good choice if you need to put the mesh around a corner.

Chime in if you have other cheap sources please!

i have some metal mesh from artfriend, 1m by 1 ft is S$4.50. mesh square is 2mm x 2mm. not bad. or can use fish net, got this plastic black netting that can be bought from fish shops, cheap and very real. last time bought 1m by 1ft for 50 cents only. can paint and easy to cut.
