CC-01 with 3:1 Reduction gear and drop link suspension!
Due to popular demand(hahaha...), here is some pics of what I had done to the humble little CC-01( got from slowpekrc.com ) the day I had it.
First of all and after reading thru the wed regards this chassis, many had mod the rear suspension for more articulations. They called it Drop Link Suspension... What you need is just add a link
as shown in the below picture, that simple but with some drilling required on the chassis wheel wells.
Second, the in-famous Great wall of China must go... thus cut cut cut!
Then, I sprayed the under chassis all matte black, weathered to get the scale feel...

Re: CC-01 with 3:1 Reduction gear and drop link suspension!
Next, 3:1 gearbox installation. Gearbox from my old rc planes, and cannot remember what brand already. The output pinion shaft is diameter 4mm, thus I drilled out my spare pinion gear to ID 4mm to fit.
Due to limited space in the chassis, operation cut cut cut again!!!
Perfect fit!
Just ran around with the gearbox. Those metal gears are very loud and alittle annoying, but slow speeds and torque very much improved! Definitely a must for all CC-01 for better performance with this rig!
