Need help on my 2 Kyosho HOR Empty Need help on my 2 Kyosho HOR

Post by namialus Tue 11 Dec 2012 - 8:00

Hey there...

I'm a newbie to Rc bikes.. Last year I bought 2 kyosho bikes, RTR from eBay.. But both are not functioning now..

For the 1st bike, I can't fixed the servo, and I need to get replacement gears and solder the engine wiring.. I sucked at electronics.. So I won't risk taking it on my own hands..

My 2nd bike , after a few runs, the motor overheated.. And the servo is causing me problems too.. I decided not to run it after that incident..

I've been looking around for help .. So I hope there's someone or two who may help.. Thank you..

Pictures will be posted much later..

Hi. Does it come with instruction manuals? Maybe you could strip the parts and take a closer look of what's wrong with the bike. Smile

This ancient kyosho HOR definately need to overhaul even if you bought it new. Even after repair , the plastic parts will not last long after such a long time. Better to keep it as shelf queen.
Want a more tough bike , get the venom GPV ! The electronics can be replaced easily.

This time I certainly have to agree with rtech in terms of reliability of the hor bikes. You can run it hard, but be prepared to pay the price to buy spare parts replacement to maintain the bike in top condition...but its not impossible but just with paitience and have $$$.

Bro, from the pics, I can see the first bike is pretty souped with upgrades from front forks to rear suspensions. The gearbox base is alloy too but wonder why no end cover and gears? I can see the motor and seems like the kyosho hopup lemans motor. If cannot repair then like what bro Teck mentioned upgrade to the ezrun brushless combo. If u still on the stock 2 in 1 futaba AM reciever/esc then get the lemans motor also not too bad.

As for the servo actions on first bike, why not you examine the 2nd bike servo arrangement and do the same on it? Same as for the gearing part, or may as well run the second bike wothnew servo. The brushed motor overheating problems is due to over gearing on pinion. Try use smaller pinion on motor and it will be fine, else will cooked the stock futaba esc as well.

Lastly, check the front wheel for alloy weight inside. If its intact you will have a stable running bike even at slow speeds, but not responsive at corners. If removed will be opposite!

When everythings sorted out, you will have a nice scale racing bike with the rider leans towards every corners, and will definitely put a grin smile on your face. May the force be with you....
