Re: Hi all from Jurong Lakeside
haa..still a newbie bro..anyway my build is totally stock..nothing differs from the standard Tundra HL..
Btw, can ask noob question. I've seen from youtube you guys really trash ur trucks in the jungle, do I need to do any prep before I trash mine too? Like waterproofing or some special sealant around the electric parts or motor?

Re: Hi all from Jurong Lakeside
Newbie also can post build thread ma... no worries...
me newbie too... the old birds will guide us...
good thing about build threads is that the old birds will see and point out any issues or suggestions while we are building the kit...
Yes... u will need to waterproof your electronics. ... e.g. rx.. esc.. and lipo....
And also marine grease your gears too....

Re: Hi all from Jurong Lakeside
welcome to SGC bro.
get some idea from this post, https://sgcrawlers.forumotion.com/t1026-how-to-how-to-waterproof-brushed-esc-and-rc-electronics
u can balloon up your receiver, after the rx is in the balloon, wrap the balloon neck around the wires and double cable tie it. that's how most of us did.

Re: Hi all from Jurong Lakeside
It's good to do water proffing before you do your first trail. Dun wait till some rust than do water proffing. It's a very painful experience. Gears and bearings is very important. I used marine grease and it's holding up good. I used a non water proff servo with marine grease in it and it's holding up so far. Jethobby has a cheap water proff servo. Can check it out.

Waterproof using ballons...thats a great idea...hmmm...apply marine grease around the moving parts? I noticed thats a rectangular hole in the body of the 540 motor..I just tape that up?

Re: Hi all from Jurong Lakeside
Marine grease in the gear box. I tried grease on moving parts, end up lots of dirt stick to grease. So lightly grease moving parts. Just leave the motor hole as it is.
