Bruder 1:16 Scale Linde Forklift H30D - RC conversion trial....
always wanted a RC Forklift..... but the ready ones are way over my tiny budget...
then... came across the Bruder forklift!
it's 1:16 scale and very detailed....
thanks to bro babyboy for sharing the site.... ordered and delivered within 24hrs...
here are some photos of the little toy...
scale wise, it's slightly smaller than the semi-trucks, but close enough i hope....
now... will try to convert it to RC.... wish me luck....
step 1.... tear it apart and explore.....
got this universal gearbox from Tamiya....
and built it up....
spent lots of time trying to remove the wheel from the shaft....
this little toy's quality is real good.... had a really hard time using different tools.... brute force.... etc... and the wheel still doesn't come apart from the shaft....
finally.... managed to remove the wheel....
the end of the shaft has this "one way" grooves.... so once it is assembled into the wheel, it's really not easy to remove...
fixed up the tranny onto the wheel shaft...
and test fitted onto the forklift chassis....
fits nicely..... so even if the forklift doesn't "lift"... i still get the consolation prize of a RC forklift without lift!
next.... trying to use a micro servo to control lifting mechanism....
disassembled it...
will be converting it to work as a micro servo winch for the lifting...
seems like the output gear is connected directly to the potentiometer's shaft....
so.... i got 2 options....
option 1: use 2 resistors to fix the centre point....
option 2: turn the pot to the middle position and glue it up!
still not sure if the micro servo is strong enough...... so i chose the easy way out..... glue up the pot in the middle position!
that's all for now....
thanks for looking!

Re: Bruder 1:16 Scale Linde Forklift H30D - RC conversion trial....
continued with the 360 degrees servo....
managed to find a hand drill in the toolbox slightly bigger than the pot's output shaft....
drilled the hole on the output gear bigger.... to allow the output gear to spin freely on the pot's shaft...
reassembled the servo and a 360 degrees servo is completed....
tried the servo winch's micro pulling power.... as expected.... it is too weak for the lift....
well... all is not wasted as i need a 360 degrees servo for another project on hand...

Thought the fork lift was remote control in the place.
Great build !The drive shaft and transmission fits nicely.
