Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
not bad for my first attempt at posting pictures
the rtr set comes with a triangular battery tray to be placed behind the servo. it is said that placing the battery further forward is better but because the space between the servo and the motor is too tight for my battery i just have to place mine on top in the center.
wonder how many minutes of crawling can i get out of a 2s 4200mah

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
the esc wire is too long!! need to coil a few rounds around the shocks mounting.
Might consider cutting short the wire to make it neater and to prevent getting caught in the main gear located at the back..

both receiver and esc are double sided taped to the battery plate. Might consider using the triangular plate to mount the esc on and moving the receiver forward..to keep the wires clear from the gears..

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
Haha..nice cos new mah. Just brought it out nearby my place. Spent more time looking for a suitable spot than crawling it. I think it prefers being on it's back for most of it's time
Tough lah to find rocky places here. Maybe granite quarry
Boolean21 - they don't mention the no. of channels on the tx but from most websites I've visited I think only 2ch. What can I expect for a rtr set??!!

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
Nice AX10 Awesome, when i bought it few months ago at winnie, it comes with AR-2 RX and AX-2 TX. Good that Axial is improving their RTRs. AX10 is great with lotsa mods available. Enjoy your ride.
Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
No worries man, you can slowly upgrade to 3 or 4 channel set in future.awesome wrote:

Hi, Thanks and nice to know of another Scorpion crawler hope to meet some days. I dunno the diff between these two systems but for now I'll be happy with stock till I can find some decent places to climb. Am keeping a lookout for good places.

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
my fav place for rocks are Senja and Little Guilin, Little Guilin is more convenient, shorter walk from car park, Senja Rd rocks is nice but a bit of a walk from the car park...awesome wrote:ShaiAX55 wrote:Nice AX10 Awesome, when i bought it few months ago at winnie, it comes with AR-2 RX and AX-2 TX. Awesome's AX10 Drive Shaft Mod
hello all..paiseh for MIA...here's some update..
couldn't find the senja rocks last week so ended up at jelapang instead to do some crawling..
can see my scorpion in the below pic??
a little disappointed with the crawler..was just attempting to cross over a gap in between some rocks and the shafts just came off - twice on the front and once on the back so decided to call if off..what a maiden
you can see that the shaft gets twisted easily. In the meantime waiting for my upgrades to arrive i might as well try to beef up the joint using the tail servo mounts from my heli..the shaft diameter is about 12mm same as the trex tail boom.
servo mounts:
fixed!! i only work on the axle ends..the transmission ends are left as is..hope this will work for the time being..

not that hard lah..hehe..
i have bling servo mounts too, but too lazy to cut off the excess. plus to put it on you have to remove the shaft and yoke. you can open up the plastic type to fit in quite easily..

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
i'm using traxxas shafts for my honcho... works great... no popping out of the drive shafts ever since the change.... i only changed the rear one that is linked to the axle...
i can't use metal ones cos have to cut the shaft shorter in order to use the dig unit... but so far so good, not a pop...
or get these.... should secure it nicely...
