[PHOTOS] Tamiya TT02 Lexus RC F Eneos Sustina
Hi folks,
Let me introduce the handsome Lexus RC F. Maybe the only Lexus that I consider good looking.
As is well known by now, the TT02 is super easy to build. Not so much this body-shell though. There are two large sheets of sticker sheets that take up the whole floor of the box. Many of the stickers need to be stitched together and massaged over bumps and bends.
But the result rewards for the many hours spent:

The kit comes with the TBLE-02S ESC, so we added a 10.5T TrackStar brushless motor and a 25T pinion for a decent top speed. Beside ball bearings, the pogo-sticks that come with the kit were replaced by Yeah Racing shocks we resurrected with Tamiya oil seals (see earlier post). Our home-built receiver has an output to drive our light controller directly.
I was not pleased that this kit does not come with light buckets. Yeah, I know: This is a race car that runs during day-time only. But I still wanted lights. So we built our own light buckets from scratch.
The LEDs shine through the stickers, which works well for the rear. The fronts are illuminated, but don't light up the road like real light buckets with transparent stickers do. Still nice to look at. I will post a video later.

Thanks guys!
Here is a short, lousy clip showing the lights. Rears look good, front could be better.
Transparent water-slide laser print decal paper is already ordered for the next car
