Grease question
Can I buy normal grease for my SCX10 kit from hardware store or must get special grease. I bought one from LSH but says only good for metal gear and general for joint. Cos the one provided by the kit is patheticly very small amount and it's to be use everywhere and very sticky as compare to the one I bought. If I got high temp grease can I use it?(its machine grease and sticky)

Marine Greasing the Axles for water proofing
Hi All,
Sorry to hi jack this thread, but I got a question about water proofing the SCX10 Axles. Saw tons of youtube videos about water proofing the SCX10 axles by filling the inside with marine grease.
Do any of you guys do that for water proofing? I ask because my axles are still not assembled. Once assembled, I do not think I would like to take it apart again later. So if filling it with marine grease is the way to go, I shall get a tube tomorrow, stuff it with grease before I continue with the assembly.
Thanks in advance for the inputs.
Cheers

Re: Grease question
I dun really stuff mine with marine grease. Only the gears. Water will seep in anyway. Dun know if any bros stuff theirs but will help to make your ride sound proof from the gears. . Bro oceanic ride is the quietest from my observation and he says he used a lot of grease for the gears.
For me I will take it apart again for maintenance once I clock my mileage.

Re: Grease question
ya, their grease sold out....
they still have the same grease, but packaged with the injector... at $20+....
guess have to wait for them to restock...
no idea where else to get the marine grease...
wait for the other bros to see if they know of any other places.

tks for info, need to get the grease too as sooner or later got to waterproof. but just another side question, hope OP dun mind. Where to get proper set of hex screwdrivers for SCX10? I hv those L shaped hexes but those hard to use. Also, what mm sizes to get? So far hardware shops only sell Philips screwdrivers.

Re: Grease question
you should be able to get them locally from most hobby shops...
if no hurry, get from hobbyking.... around usd4 for a set...
can get some batteries, spare receivers, etc from there at the same time.
