Wrigleys' SCX10 Dingo Kit Build (On a budget)
Been wanting a Dingo ever since I got my first SCX10 Honcho. After seeing these Dingoes multiplying and trailing, I decided to get one... A kit again after the XR10.. So same thing click click click from Towerhobbies and the bbb ensued.
Collected the parcel from my neighbourhood Singpost. The parcel actually arrived within 6 days.
Couldn't resist so I took a snapshot before it goes back into the box.
A week later, the build starts. 280912
Followed the manual step by step. Axles started first.
Completed the axles.
Next are the shocks. This time the rubber seals are holding the silicone oil in.
Completed the axles, upper and lower links as well as the drive shafts.
To be continued.. Need to burn more midnight oil (borrow this line from Boo)..
Had a little time to build before going to sleep for tomorrow's trail. 290912
So today all the time I had is building the tranny.
Finally I know how a slipper clutch works.. All because I tried building a kit..
Got confused here on pg 19 step 18. After looking on the internet, Part AX800009 (5) does not fit and I had to skip that part. Other build forums confirmed to skip this part.
Mounted the motor and the tranny onto the skid plate. No pics for now as I have kept them in storage.. Till then...
Managed to squeeze 2.5hrs for tonight's build.
The rig is taking shape and hopefully given a few more days, complete it..
Today I had time to complete the rig.
First up, it is to wire up the electronics. Again I use cheap china esc, servo, silver can and HK GT-2 rx. All for less than $50.
I decided to use my Honcho cover on this shorter wheelbase Dingo SCX10. It turned out pretty nice.
Scale fire extinguisher.
3 racing winch.
Next up is painting the Dingo body. Stay tuned.
Body swap
Finally the rig is complete.
Dingo on 1.55 Mud Trashers. Too small..

Yeah! Another wonderful Dingo!
Two things to watch out: on top of the axles are holes for the 4-link suspension that is not used on the Dingo. Close them or otherwise dirt/mud/water goes into the axle. Just some spare 3mm screws will do.
Also ensure that the drive shaft pins are aligned when you mount them. Step 10 on page 15 of the manual has a warning about that on the bottom of the page, but it is a bit difficult to understand. If you don't align the shaft halfs properly your Dingo will "bounce" when driving at certain speeds.

One more new toy, haha. Whats the difference between a honcho and a dingo? Other then the different cover?

Thanks for the heads up! Appreciate!

Dingo has slightly shorter wheelbase and it only comes as a kit. Other than that they are on the same platform.

Almost trail ready! Havent threadlock important joints and also paint the dingo body. For now parts can still hold together for poser shots.
