yeap saw these at ckrc but not sure if these will be pushed out by the york as there is very little space at the shaft end to fit. I bought the MIP shafts instead.

Have you tried using cable ties? I think it should be stong enough to keep the arms together..

didn't use any retainers... traxxas shalf works great..

Awesome, if you really into rockcrawling, MOA is the way to go.
advantage of MOA over shaft driven rock crawler:
*No drive shaft, so no centre gearbox equal low CG.
*both motor on axle increase weight on axle, low CG.
*Dig for both front and rear, no additional hardware require.

Already bought the scorpion loh so just have to live with it for now. Let's see how well it performs first with the upgrades available. XR10?

Yup, the XR10.
Your upgrades will make it stronger not perform better. You can use the scorpion for trailing and Xr10 for serious rock crawling.
Trust me if your rock crawler cannot perform , you will get tired of it. And worst is if you hop-up the crawler, you will not willing to sell it because you spend so much on it.

Sian..wish my scorpion can climb like that
Yeah. Think I'll get the dig system. I'm going to install rear steering too. Would you suggest to use stick type transmitter or pistol type will do? Pistol type only got 4ch....

Yo bro, dig already reduces the turning radius, you don't really need the rear steer if you have the dig installed...
If budget allows, go for vanquish dig... Many good reviews on rccrawler.com...
if want cheaper, get the hot racing dig... I'm using hr dig for both my honcho and the ax10... Works well...

Thanks for the recommendations. My rear steering kit is already on it's way here. Had a chance to witness dig in action today. It allows you to pivot and turn by locking the rear wheels. Quite cool with rear steering I should be able to turn at sharp bend yet keep the rig in motion bah...already bought liao loh..

What tx do you plan to use for your rear steer? Or just use a y-cable to control the rear servo?
Rear steer will help reduce turning radius a little... Just stick with it and try first lor... Since on the way liao... If not satisfied, then add a dig later...

Am looking either the futaba 4PL or 4PKS but may try using my current JR PCM 9XII if can work..can't decide leh...
looking at my crawler i think a lot needs to be done..have to see how it performs after the upgrades..haiz..XR10.....

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
Like boo skywalker said, rear steer is not necessary. The rear steer is also not allow in rock crawling competition.
The dig not only allow pivot turn , but the most important thing as you observe closely in the video of the stock XR10, in vertical climb when the rear is locked. This cause the front wheel to grap the front rock deeper for more traction.
The dig also prevent the rig from flipping over when going down hill as the rear is lighter. When the rear wheels are locked, the front wheel pull the rigs causing the rig rear end to squat and the rear tires will bite the rocks , which prevent from lifting up.
Stick or wheel tX depends on personal preference. For wheel TX, can accesss the 3rd channel switch easier then the stick Tx.

Re: Awesome's AX10 Scorpion
The video i show you here is a extreme rock crawler chassis. Notice a pro rock crawler does not look scale anymore. It is more of performance then looks. You can see the centre of the chassis is almost empty , all the electronics and bat. are mounted on the front and near the axle.
This video clearly shows the operation of the dig. Rear wheels lock is known as "Front Dig". And front wheel lock is known as " Rear Dig".
Tires plays the most important role in rock crawling. The 1st thing to hop-up , are the tires.
You can have the best set-up in the world but without good tires, the rig ain't gonna perform.
