Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
New year, new toy!
Has always been wanting to build a MOA crawler... So I guess now is a good time for a new toy...
The XR10 arrived today...
It came in a small box... Much smaller than a wraith... Good, cos easier to keep the box...
here's a shot when I just unboxed the xr10....
First step of the build.... Get a tiger... haha, but in the end... the tiger went back to the fridge...
So progress photos below... Completed the front and rear axles, and the upper and lower links....
That's it for now...
Thanks for viewing.

Bro, post your wraith build thread too!
Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
Boo, you have made the rite choice for a rockcrawler. With MOA , you can have both front and rear dig.
Boo, why a beer can there? Must drink beer then can build isit? Wahaha..

Thanks bro... Setting up for rear dig at the moment first. Already built the diy dig controller.RTECH wrote: Boo, you have made the rite choice for a rockcrawler. With MOA , you can have both front and rear dig.

Haven't tested yet...
Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
I think set up the rear wheel with dig is enough u do not need to set for the front unless your rear wheel can turn too

Yeah, minimum need rear dig... But with front dig, can do more "patterns"! Haha

No la... Its the driver, not the crawler.... I'm a newbie... I think a honcho can beat me.. Haha!
The gmade owner got a newer toy too... His more power... And you haven't see teck's MOA right? That is poisonous!...
Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
I think hor, they call rear dig when the front wheel is locked and front dig when the rear wheel locked.

Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
ok, now back to the build updates...
fixed up the shocks and the chassis... didn't fix up the receiver box cos likely wont be using it...
next up would be soldering the motors and wiring up my custom dig unit...
ok, some photos taken just now...

Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
updates to my XR10 build...
Body trimmed, washed, masked and ready for painting.... then i realised i forgot to ream the holes for the body mounts... wanted to go with velco... but well... decided to use body posts...
done the holes and painted the body... but have not taken the pics yet...
here it is... can't find soft silicone wires from sim lim tower... so end up got the multistrand cables with are harder.... will order the cables online then change them out in future when I have the time...
a little messy on the cabling...
i'm running it on a single ESC, coupled with my DIY dig unit for using the GT3B to lock or free the rear wheels.... hobbyking BEC, and towerpro mg946r servo.... first time using the towerpro... see how it goes...
i'm using the r2hobbies esc cos it can support 3S... so i have the option of running the xr10 on both 2S and 3S...
should be in time to try it out this sunday...
some pics below...
thanks for watching...

Re: Boolean21's Axial XR10 build thread
The Axial Hardline body, masked and painted....
Removed the masks and pasted the stickers...
Body mounted on the chassis...
And lastly... the action shots...
to do / improve...
let some air out of the tires! or change them out...
generally, it is fun building a MOA... and my DIY Dig unit works quite nicely...
driving the MOA is fun too!
